The r/Hedera subreddit is a mess right now. There’s an ongoing attack on Shayne Higdon, the CEO of the HBAR Foundation. Numerous Reddit posts are accusing Shayne of dumping HBAR on retail investors following the BlackRock news.
Keep in mind, Shayne gets paid in HBAR, so of course, he needs to sell some to cover his expenses in USD. Let’s be real, selling your HBAR to pay for personal expenses isn’t a crime. If you get paid in HBAR, what does it matter when you sell it?
Some Redditors are also accusing Shayne of intentionally posting a misleading tweet to line his own pockets. On the HBAR Foundation’s Twitter account, the BlackRock news was worded very carefully to avoid being misleading. However, on Shayne Higdon’s personal account, it wasn’t as carefully worded and did appear slightly misleading. But let’s be honest, not many investors likely saw his personal tweet, which was later deleted.
What do you think? Is there a hidden agenda behind these attacks, or is it just a case of misinformed Redditors stirring the pot?
One of the people attacking Shayne on Reddit goes by the username Perfect_Ability_1190. He appears to be a member or developer on the Sirio Finance project. It’s possible that Sirio applied for a grant from the HBAR Foundation, and the grant might have been denied. If that’s the case, it could explain why these allegations are surfacing.
Perfect_Ability_1190 has been talking a lot about transparency, but it would be appropriate for him to come forward and let us know if his team was denied a grant. That matters. Some of his allegations seem incredibly biased, like accusing Shayne of a pump and dump, suggesting it was immoral for him to sell his HBAR, or saying that Shayne gets paid too much money. These attacks seem awfully personal and might be driven by a grudge.
It would be appropriate for Perfect_Ability_1190 to come forward with the full story. It would certainly add context to your claims.
